Stone Mountain Camping Trip

posted Mar 3, 2010 5:56 PM by BSA Pack 799   [ updated Mar 3, 2010 7:14 PM ]

April 16th, 17th, and 18th will be our Stone Mountain Camping Trip.  It will be a 3 day, 2 night event.  The cost will be $40 per person and will include two nights of camping and two days admission into the Stone Mountain Amusement Park.  You will be own your own for all meals during the trip.

You can choose to eat out or cook and there are many options to choose from.  There are a number of eating places within Stone Mountain Park and there are restaurants close to the park as well.  The campground also has gas grills available for cooking and a fire ring at each campsite.  Please click on the following links for almost all the information you would ever want to know about the facilities.

A free water taxi ride across the lake to Stone Mountain Park is included with the camping fee.  But if you prefer to drive to the park, it is a short drive around to the park.  If you choose to go to the park and come back for lunch the water taxi runs continuously and arrives once every 30 - 45 minutes apart.  You will have lots of options.

Once you have reviewed all the information, please decide if you are interested and going then sign-up using the form at the bottom of the page.  The pack has presently reserved enough campsites for 60 individuals.  We have reserved 6 campsites which they will allow us to put as many tents on as we would like but they have limited us to 10 people per campsite.  So, please do not hesitate to sign-up, we can only guarantee the $40 cost for the first 60 to sign-up.  After that the pack will have to negotiate additional camping space and the cost might go up slightly.  This will be an extremely fun weekend, your kids will really enjoy this place.  We hope you all will come.

Check In: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Check Out: 12:00 PM

When: March 20, 2010 Race Details

The track will be a 3 lane track, with racers racing one time on each lane. Winners will be decided based on fastest combined time. The software will be set up to call Scouts out by NAME, not number. Please be sure to inform your scouts the proper procedure for the race. Scouts will check in their cars at registration. When it is their time to race, their name will be called along with the lane number. The scout is to go retrieve his car from the garage, place on the proper lane, and make his way to the end of the track. Once the race is over, the scout will pick up his car and take it immediately back to the garage. Then take his seat until his name is called again. Pushing, shoving, or running will result in IMMEDIATE disqualification.
